Museum of Monoculture Catalogue by Justine Philip PhD
The exhibition catalogue features 24 photomontage screenprints inspired by my research on the ERC funded project MaMoGH – The Making of Monoculture. A Global History, in Birmingham UK. MaMoGH documents the global drift towards monocultural food production post Word War II, exposing the lack of visual records in the archives bearing witness to this hazardous and troubling history. The exhibition was first presented in a solo show at Dudley House Gallery, Bendigo for their Artist on View program, October 2025, and then Thirty Twenty Gallery Melbourne. It will be touring and evolving over the next two years.
The catalogue includes three essays, by Justine Philip, Professor Frank Uekötter, and Roland Breckwoldt.
