As a cultural keystone species, the dingo has their own name in the 250+ languages of First Nations people. This image lists just 85 of them. They have been classified as vermin Australia wide for over 200 years, despite their important ecological and cultural status.

The montage includes details from an 19th century intaglio landscape of the Murray River, with the artists photo of a captive dingo from Healesville Sanctuary in the foreground.
